KiasuParents launch campaign to rekindle kampong spirit amongst parents in Singapore

Singapore’s popular online parenting portal, KiasuParents.com, is organising a campaign to encourage parents to openly share their parenting experiences and knowledge with others and rekindle the kampong spirit amongst parents in Singapore.

This campaign includes a photo story competition for parents to share inspiring photos of themselves working or having fun with their children, between 22 May 2017 to 21 June 2017. Entries must be accompanied with a photo story to share your parenting experience. A total of $10,000 cash prizes has been set aside for the winners.

To qualify, all you need to do is share your entries on social media, either on Facebook or Instagram, with the key hashtags #KiasuParents, #KindredSpiritParents, #AXA and #FlyingCape and encourage your friends to go to the contest microsite to ‘Like’ their favourite photo.

A total of 100 entries will be shortlisted as finalists based on the most number of ‘Likes’. These 100 chosen entries shall be posted on the contest microsite for public voting between 23 June 2017 to 9 July 2017. Winners will be chosen based on a combination of popularity votes and organisers’ judging scores. Members who vote for the winning entries will stand to win prizes too. A prize giving ceremony cum photo exhibition will be held on 15 July 2017 at Lattice80, #08-01, 80 Robinson Road.

Competition period: 2 May – 21 June 2017 Voting period: 23 June – 9 July 2017 Submit your entry through a photo story at kampong-spirit-parents.kiasuparents.com

Since KiasuParents.com’s launch in 2008, its platform has attracted many parents to network with one another through lively forum discussions in varied topics ranging from Primary One registration to recommendations for a good dentist in town. Many parents also rely on the site’s AskQ feature to get support from the community and help their children with their academic problems.

To date, the portal enjoys 3 million page views monthly and has over 125,000 registered members and more than 11,000 Facebook followers. Through the campaign, KiasuParents.com aims to promote a greater sense of community spirit amongst Singaporean parents and increase their willingness to share their knowledge with others.

Parenting should not be a lonely process, and many selfless parents have contributed via the platform in the last 10 years, to share and help new parents navigate the complex task of bringing up children in Singapore.

KiasuParents.com aims to be the bastion for kindred spirited parents in Singapore, providing a one-stop platform for parents to find other like-minded parents, and be better informed on how we can play, educate, and work with our children.

  1. What a lovely idea. Parenting can be tough sometimes and it must be nice to be able to get answers from other parents.
