V-lift Nose Threadlift with Aesthetic Central clinic

Hello guys! Hope you has been well. As some of you know that I recently went to Aesthetics Central Clinic and try out the highly raved treatment "Nose Threadlift". Alot of you have been asking me for review and my opinion on it. Today I'm sharing with you my thoughts.

First let me introduce Aesthetics Central.

Who are they?

Aesthetics Central formally known as TCS Aesthetics. Is one of the first few Aesthetics clinic which opened in Singapore.
Situated in the heart of Singapore, overlooking the landmark Singapore River waterfront, and with a breathtaking view of the city skyline, their clinic blends convenience with upmarket style.  Their facility has been completely remodelled to include a spacious reception, a very private lounge, private consultation rooms, operating facilities and there's even a "playroom" for your kids. Yes you heard me right! They are so dedicate to provide you with excellent service that they even thought of us mummy who might have to bring our kids along. Do note though that they do not provide nanny to mend your kids.

UPDATES* The play room has since been removed and turned into a treatment room

As their patient, we're welcome to make use of their lifestyle facilities like rooftop garden, gym, pool and Jacuzzi, or enjoy the facilities nearby…
While I'm there, I enjoyed the privacy of their private waiting lounge, away from prying eyes.  Surf via their complimentary WiFi hotspot, just take in the relaxing view of the city skyline, or peruse the numerous hand-selected skincare and beauty products which have been personally tested by their clinical team. Their caring staff really pampered me in every step of the way.

Oh yes even their toilet and dressing room looks very class and well equip for their customers!!

2 of their treatment room.

I was schedule to meet Dr Ryan for a consultation. Dr Ryan Tan obtained his medical degree qualifications from NUS (National University of Singapore) & received his aesthetic certifications from the National Skin Centre. He has passion in all of his aesthetics treatments, such as the lasers & skin boosters injections.

He is a highly experienced doctor who has helped numerous of patients to look better & to regain their confidence. He also possesses a meticulous eye for detail & caring personality, and is always ready to advise his patients on effective & safe solutions.
His mission is to help every patient to achieve a natural & youthful appearance with minimal pain. Treating every patient as a friend, he is open to sharing his travels & photography journeys as well 🙂
Qualifications:MBBS (Singapore)
So I was brought to Dr Ryan room to have a consultation and has a better understanding of what's TCS's V-lift Nose Threadlift is all about.
So let me impact my knowledge about Nose threadlift to you curious Ladies and gentleman!
What's V-lift Nose Threadlift and how Aesthetics Central does it?
V-lift Nose Threadlift is the latest trend to hit Korean and Singapore shores. It can help your nose look higher, straighter and be more defined without invasive nose implant surgery. In addition, Nose Threadlift can also lift your nose tip and make it appear smaller and sharper.
One of the most fashionable trends in Korean aesthetics now is a slim an defined nose bridge. Tall elegant nose is much sought after, but is difficult to achieve with fillers, and in the past it could only be obtained with nose implants. Now with V-lift nose threadlift, it's all possible!
Aesthetics central uses fine, absorbable PDO (Poydiaxanone) suture threads which are inserted into the bridge and columella of the nose, a lifting and narrowing effect is seen on the nose bridge and nose tip.  PDO is an absorbable thread material used commonly in surgery for stitching up internal organs like the liver and intestines.  Over the course of one year, the threads are absorbed, but during the time that the threads are in the body, it excites the tissues around it.  This leads to the formation of new collagen fibres in its place, maintaining the effect for longer.  It is not unusual for the effects of the nose threadlift to be seen even after two years.
It is a myth that the only way to have a higher, more defined nose is to undergo an invasive nose implant surgery. The reality is that the Nose Threadlift procedure, a non-surgical and minimally invasive procedure with almost no down time, can also help you obtain a higher and more defined nose and nose tip.
For those who are also concerned about the risks of filler treatment such as spread, migration, lump formation or even blindness (which has already happened in afew countries), the Nose Threadlift provides a good alternative to enhancing the features of the nose without the attending risks of filler treatments.*

How is V-Lift Nose threadlift done?

The procedure is very simple and takes only ten minutes to complete.  Firstly, the nose is numb using numbing cream, after that tiny anaesthetic is injected onto the nose for further assurance of zero pain. This is the only painful part of the procedure.  Once the nose is completely numbed, the threads can be inserted.  There are long and short threads. Long V-Lift threads will be inserted to lift up the bridge of the nose.  Short V-Lift threads will be inserted on the tip of the nose to lift it up.
Numb cream is being applied
Me before the procedure start in the surgery room.

Local anaesthetic is injected on various nose point
The doctor and nurse are really delicate. They actually covered the other part of my face as they have to do some cleansing and I have makeup on. So to prevent it from being messy, they covered those part with gauze and cotton pad. *Don't worry it's very thin and I'm still able to breath through it* 😄

What is the effect of V-Lift Nose Threadlift?

The nose bridge is sharper and narrower, and straighter.  There is more definition on the nose bridge. The nose tip is raised and creates the illusion that the entire nose is smaller and narrower. It infact will help your facial feature to seems more prominent.* It should be noted that there is a partial effect that is semi-permanent. This is because the Nose Threadlift creates new collagen within the skin and tightens the skin as time goes by.*
For best results, 1 repeat treatment at 6 to 12 months is highly recommended.*
As to the number of threads required for optimal results, it depends greatly from one individual to the other. The optimal number of threads will be advised by our doctors after consultation.*

What are the complications of V-Lift Nose Threadlift?

The main risks of the threadlift are infection, which occurs in less than 1 % of cases.  The other risk is thread extrusion, where the thread may push out from below the skin to the surface of the skin.  If this happens, the thread will simply. need to be pulled out.  Nose threads are inserted from the tip of the nose, so there will be a small “pimple” like mark on the tip of the nose.  This heals up quickly, usually within a few weeks.

What should I observe after my nose threadlift?

Keep the injection point very clean.  Do not keep touching it and do not go swimming or engage in dirty sports like soccer etc, where the entry point could be contaminated.  There will be mild swelling for between two to three days.  This goes off quickly. The nose looks natural immediately after the procedure but when the swelling goes down, about 10-15% of the height will be lost.
*Note: As this is a medical procedure, results & outcomes are not guaranteed and may vary from person to person.

After treatment I'm given 2 types of medication and a tube of creams.
Sinecch, is good for reducing of swell and bruises after surgery. They are all labelled according to the days and hours you should consume this.

Apart from the Sinecch, there's an antibiotic cream to be apply onto wound area on my nose tips for 5days.
Also there's Augmex antibiotic to be consume. I have to stop that during the 3rd days as I got an allergy reaction. I actually consult the nurses whether is it normal that my eyes and face are swollen. The nurses was very kind and Dr Ryan even  spoke to me personally on the phone to understand about my condition. I would like to declare that my allergy reaction has got nothing to do with Aesthetics Central as they asked me many times whether I have any drug allergies before prescribing to me. But my answer was no as I have never come across being allergy to any drugs. Infact I have got to thank them now that I know that I actually am allergy to a certain drugs and I will be careful when I go see any GP in future!

2nd day with my higher nose bridge visible.

My swollen eye and face. Nose is still abit swell as it's only the 3rd day.
5th day. Less bruise and swell.

Other than V-lift Nose Threadlift, they have some other various type of treatment available.

Loving Brown Rice with Nutribrown together with your love one

Today I'm going to share with you about brown rice. First and foremost what's brown rice and how does it benefits one? There's so many brown rice from different area around the world so let me share about Malaysia's brown rice :)

Brown rice’s health benefits have been known for thousands of years, starting in 2500 B.C. Brown rice is 100% whole grain where white rice is not. The Malaysian brown rice is so precious that it yields only 1% of China has and 9% of Thailand's brown rice production.  Brown Rice (whole grain rice), is a paddy seed that only its hard shell is being removed; and its inner protection layers that contain richer vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber are still intact. The most prominent feature of Brown Rice is the Germ; it is a complete seed with vitality. Brown Rice, compared with white rice, is much more time-consuming to boil, difficult to chew because of its rough texture but its health benefits are remarkable.

So why many turn into brown rice nowadays?

Dieticians and nutritionists are strongly recommending brown rice as an excellent source of all-round nutrition: manganese, magnesium, iron, selenium and the vitamins B1, B3, B6 and Vitamin E. Brown rice is a good source of dietary fiber, protein and gamma-oryzanol.

So what's the difference with the usual white rice?
White rice is high is high in calories and carbohydrate while low in all the healthy area and there's no Vitamin unlike brown rice.

There are more and more human turning into brown rices now aday because of all the healthy benefits it contains. There are 5 wonders of Brown Rice.
  • It lower blood cholesterol
  • Promote Healthy Blood Pressure
  • Protect our heart
  • Improve digestive system
  • Lastly it help in weight control! That's why I'm drinking them now rather than drinking "Milo, coffee and etc" for my breakfast / tea break. You can even consume just before your sleep!

Thanks to Nutribrown, I'm able to try so many different flavors of Brown Rice.

It's also very easy to bring around with me too as it's in those instant drink packaging unlike the olden style inside those "Metal Tin"

NutriBrown revolutionized the modern way of consuming brown rice. Today, their company leads the world in innovation with high technology processing method that transforms the originally rough texture of brown rice into ultra smooth instant powder while retaining the natural vitamins and minerals of brown rice, which is inevitably the "King" of all grains.
They created multiple series of smooth and yummy NutriBrownRice™, providing a whole new experience to our taste bud, suitable across all ages. Brown rice is 100% whole grain, and NutriBrownRice™ is "My Whole Grain Need on-the-go" It's my new found love in the world of gourmet health drinks. ❤

I was given 5 different flavours to try.
1: Original (No sugar added)
Suitable for everyone, especially those who are strict in low sugar diet. It contains inulin which acts as prebiotic to promote healthy digestive system. With prebiotic and being it sugar free, I add this into my son's milk formula as he is rather picky eater and has poor digestive system. After mixing with his formula for a few days, I noticed that his digestive has improved largely. It is mild yet delicious. Ideal for breakfast, teatime and supper. Inulin, a prebiotic fiber that is a natural component that occurs naturally in many plants, has also shown particular promise for Type 2 diabetes. A person with Type 2 diabetes who consumed 10 grams of inulin a day for two months had improvements in glycemic control and antioxidant levels.

As suggested: Please have a quick check with your doctor or dietician if you have a very specific diet requirement or chronic health conditions.
2: Honey
100% natural floral honey sachets packed separately. Honey is a natural flavor! NutriBrownRice™ (Honey) is still categorised as a low sugar beverage even if you add in the entire sachet of floral honey. Honey promotes better sleep, boost memory and this is an excellent energy drink. It's a perfect match with brown rice. It's one of my favourite as recently I'm down with Asthma and I got many sleepless night (Insomnia). So I tried drinking the Honey flavours and it really did helps me sleep better. It doesn't taste sweet like honey though.

3: Oat (With Soy Lecithin)

This flavors has some tiny chewy instant oat flakes & soy lecithin. If you dislike oat, try this brown rice + oats version instead, you will end up lovin' it like I do! I hated oats since I was children. I don't like the sticky sensation is has in my mouth. Therefore I was a little sceptical when I needed to try this. But to my surprise it isn't anything like those "Traditional" oats at all. Infact it's one of my favourite! P.S: Experts testify that Soy Lecithin improve brain memory, cardiovascular health, liver function and improve immune system. 😉
4: Original
This pure brown rice powder is produced with state-of-the-art American technology, contains no addictives, preservatives or artificial colouring's. Natural nutrients retained and nutrients absorption improved. The natural brown that it further motivate me to consume regularly. Suitable for all. This is also another one of my favourite!

5: Chocolate

This Contain iron & calcium, good for blood formation & bone health. because the main ingredient is brown rice instead of chocolate/malt, it doesn't cause "heatiness" to your body. It's more delicious and healthier than any other chocolate drinks which is ideal for children!

Over all the taste of Nutribrown are quite tasty but the smell when before you start drinking smell abit like medication :P haha. The texture is also quite smooth and easily dissolve if you stir well.

Nutribrown can be purchased in Cold Storage, Aeon Supermarkets, Sam’s Gloceria and Popular Bookstores. It is also available in selected pharmacies, organic and natural food chains. Their products are Halal Certified and obtained the highest food safety standard which is ISO22000 by United Kingdom Accreditation Services. It is safe to be consumed by all ages, proven by their presence in many prominent hospitals in Malaysia and Singapore. NutriBrownRice™ is also sold in China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea and Europe.

You can purchase a few flavors to try as the expiry are also long enough for you to store till you finish trying them all!

Hurry get your cup of goodness today and enjoy to a great health!

First let me start off with Heliocare Purewhite Radiance. This is one product which really makes me want to continue after completing the course!

What is Heliocare Purewhite Radiance and what are the benefits?

Heliocare Purewhite Radiance is from Spain, manufactured by Industrial Farmacutica Cantabria, S.A. . It demonstrates improvement in skin moisturization, skin brightness, skin elasticity and reduces water loss through our skin. These parameters are associated with decrease of skin blotches (whitening effect) and wrinkles (anti-aging effect).
The study was clinically evaluated by dermatologists, confirming the visible effects of the product on skin blotches and wrinkles. Heliocare Purewhite Radiance is a safe and effective treatment that combines different technologies with strong scientific support.
You know how technology improves this days and even human expectation has changed over the years? Sometimes I just which that there is a supplement that will help us to block out the harmful UV ray. Well I have got my dream come true! Well of course I will still need to apply sunblock for maximum sunblocks effect. The combination of Fernblock® and White tech complex targets every pathway of melanin formation in our skin, and also, the ingredients provide anti-aging and sun protection benefits.
Fernblock is the first oral agent that has shown abilities to quench free radicals and decrease the development of hyper-pigmentation its100% Herbal, Extract of Polypodium leucotomos. Increases skin's resistance against sunburn by 300% & decreases pigmentary response in our skin. What's even better is that it prevents and repair DNA damage induced by harmful UV rays.
Its excellent antioxidant property, reduces free radicals by up to 50%, preventing formation of hyperpigmentation caused by UV rays. After trying for just 2 weeks, I find that my skin has better elastin which let me have a firmer and plumber skin. Just look at my before and after image. Both are without makeup or filter.

I have also learnt that a study has shown that reduction in melanin intensity was 68% greater in users consuming Fernblock + topical sunscreen as compared to Placebo + topical sunscreen. This demonstrates the efficacy of Fernblock and its ability to skin whitening.

It's quite easy to consume. I just have to take one capsule in the morning and one in the evening. The capsules will work though the day, protecting my skin from harmful free radicals.

Next up will be the Coconut Revolution Hair Serum. This is a quality hair serum product from Australia. (not available anywhere in Singapore) . Helps to smoothen hair and give it a nice shine.  One of the best hair serums that I've tried I have really dried brittle ends on my hair as I frequently breach and change colors. Hence now my hair are like weed. >.<
I seldom apply hair serum as they are usually too oily or smelly for me. But once I tired the Coconut Revolution Hair Serum, I'm remembering to apply them everytime after shower or before I head out because it's non-greasy and I just love the refreshing coconut scent (not “too coconutty!”).!

A pump or two (depending on hair length and thickness) of this light weight hair serum will save my day, bringing order to troublesome heads of hair and leaving my locks soft and manageable. Made with cold-pressed virgin coconut oil, this residue-free formula reduces static fly-aways and detangles knotty hair for easy combing just like the image seen below. Focusing on the ends, massage the serum evenly through dry or damp hair after showering or whenever frizziness threatens. Dispense one pump (or more for long hair) onto the palm of your hand then massage both hands together to warm serum. Using both hands, massage serum evenly through hair, focusing on ends. Can be applied sparingly to scalp. Do not rinse.

The ingredients are Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, Dimethiconol, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Fragrance (Parfum)

Last product!! The Isoderm Liquid Cleanser. You must be thinking that is some face wash. Wrong! This is actually a shower gel from Germany.  It doesn’t have the fancy packaging compared to some of the other commercial brands out there, but is superb (and superior!) in quality and a favourite amongst doctors (GPs and dermatologists) who often prescribe this for patients who has sensitive skin. It's Non-alkaline and soap-free but it still leave my skin feeling moisture and supple. It is effective and gentle for the skin; to cleanse and moisturise at the same time and is good for both adult and children to use. I use this on my little boy too and he smell so refresh nowadays after shower. 😍 Well if you prefer not to use scented cleanser for your little one, you can get the Isoderm baby cleanser :)

Who knows a simple cleanser can have so many benefits in it!

Selling for $18 you can get it here: https://www.glovida.com/brands/isoderm/isoderm-liquid-cleanser-with-pump-500ml.html

So now you have seen it all, why not visit Glovida and see what's to your liking? Sign up for their mailing list to get $10 off first order with only $30/- order.!

Thanks Glovida! Happy shopping <3

How Kawasaki disease changed my perception of fever in children

Hello there! Since I'm trying to transit to become a parent blogger, I shall start off with my first official post and it shall be about this deadly disease in young children called "Kawasaki"
Please mind that this is a really long post but I hope you take your time to read and learn about the seriousness of Kawasaki.

What's Kawasaki disease all about?

Kawasaki Disease is a disease that causes inflammation of the blood vessels throughout the body. It predominantly affects children under the age of five. Its cause remains unknown and the disease is the leading cause of acquired heart disease in children in the developed world. KD is diagnosed based on symptoms, which include:
• a persistent fever that lasts for five days or more
• bloodshot eyes
• red lips and / or a red swollen tongue
• rashes on the skin and / or redness of the palms and soles
• swollen lymph nodes

The most scary thing is that there is no test to diagnose KD. The only possible way to tell is through observation on the various symptom.

How it all started with my little boy?

I remember that year was 2015 just close to 1 month after Nathan's 2nd birthday (Nathan is the name of my boy), he started off with fever on and off and it continues for 2 weeks. At that time I did brought him to a few doctors thinking it's just another viral fever since he goes to childcare and it's consider rather common for young children to gets sick often. But I got my lesson learned really quick through this period.

After the 2nd week, my family started to noticed some thing isn't right with Nathan as he began to not wanting to eat and he started to have a small swell lymph behind his ear on the right side. (unfortunately I didn't save the photo as I didn't thought that I will write this article) We immediately send him to KKH A&E department. After a long wait of about 2hrs, it's finally our turn. Doctor advised to admit him due to the prolonged fever and also the feared of dehydration as he isn't eating. It was near to midnight, the actual resident doctor only came to checked on my son the next morning at about 8am. Usually for midnight cases they will send standby/trainee doctor to see the case and then report it to the head doctor the next day.

Next morning came and the "Prof" came to visit and checked on Nathan's fever. My mum didn't stay around the night before but she has a lot of concerned and wants me to check with the doc but I again was not that "anxious" as compared to my mum. But I followed her instruction and asked the doctor. The doctor actually told us that is nothing serious as it's just another case of swollen gland/lymph node which she has seen in all the young children based on her past experience. Her answer actually assured me and my parents a little. Nathan have to continue to stay in the hospital as he refused to eat or drink and have to be on IVF drip. After the 2nd day we realized that he isn't recovering and that his swollen lymph seems to be getting even bigger and redder. Hence, this time I got worried, the "Prof" came to visit on him as the usual routine again and my mum was around. We checked with her if we can send him on an X-ray but she refused to do so and again repeated her term-logy of "It's just another case of swollen gland/lymph node which I've seen a lot of times" and suggested to prescribe another kind of medication instead. The next day as it was a weekend, there's another doctor that came for the routine checks instead of the "Prof". Seeing that it is a different doctor, we decided to take the chance and asked for different opinion. The doctor actually thinks that Nathan's condition is quite serious and he suggested that he should do an X-ray like we asked. But unfortunately the slot for X-ray are full and have to be scheduled to the earliest available which is next day instead.
This is his first admission

The 4th day came and it's the day that the actual doctor that is looking after Nathan came back to work and the morning checks, the other following doctor told her that the doctor which seen Nathan yesterday needed an X-ray and she was so furious and say why and said don't have to and so it's cancelled once again. So Nathan is drinking a little as we tried to feed him. But mind this, his fever isn't getting better! By the 6th day, doctor said that we can be discharged. Alright so I thought. We discharged and went home. The next few days it was really a terrible one. Nathan began to show sign of red eye and his feet and finger was all swollen and he started to limb when walking. We was all so panicked. This time my mum ask my uncle to bring him to his regular PD for his daughter at Mouth Elizabeth as we doesn't want to go KKH and wait for a few hrs again.

I didn't tag along as I have got work and the job that I was in, my boss was not very happy that I keep taking leave. So my mum and uncle helped me instead. Once they are at the clinic, the PD just see Nathan and immediately ask him to be admitted to KKH again as he is suspected of having Kawasaki Disease. When my mum told me about that I went to googled about it and I almost cried out because of all the negative effects which will cause one to have if they caught that disease. I immediately went to hospital after my work and still waiting for admission. The doctors at A&E admitted us after seeing the letter and Nathan's condition. This time it's also late night too but due to the seriousness of KD, alot of team doctor came and see Nathan and they took alot of blood from him for blood test.

Look at his swollen hand 😢
The next morning result came back but as mentioned earlier, there is no test to determine the disease, the doctor has to make arrangement for him to go to the cardiologist to have a test and some other test which I totally forgotten what it's called. There was too many things going on at that time and I being a single mom, I have to juggle with my work and Nathan that I actually used up all my leaves and have to take unpaid leave. That month my salary got deducted quite abit :( But nothing matters as long as my little boy is safe right?

After all the test was done, the doctor told us is seems to be KD. I was really furious as well as my mum. Because he was admitted right before he got diagnosed of it and the so called "Prof" of KKH didn't even suspect or educate us about KD and just send us home based on her guesses!!! We didn't even complain about her to KKH as I totally don't have the mood to bother about that seeing my son suffering. Also I do not want to name the doctor as this post isn't about shaming her but to bring awareness about the seriousness of fever that can be linked to KD in young children.

After the diagnostic, doctor suggested using IVIG as treatment. After the IVIG treatment, I'm told that fever supposed to come down but his fever still comes on and off and that worries the doctor and was told that he needs another different kind of treatment which is steroid. I felt the heartache seeing him get poked by all the needles. The doctor even ran out of veins to jab him and have to find vein at his leg area. His skin was also starting to peel in between his finger nails and foot. I really cried seeing him in pain. He was discharged the 5th day. Echo scans will be scheduled post discharge from hospital between 2 weeks to a month to check on the heart. Depending on the result, the frequency of subsequent scans will be advised by the cardiologist. He also have to take Steroid and Aspirin for continuous of 6 months. Luckily Nathan is one of the lucky few that echo scan was normal and no sign of changes for coronary arteries.
Nevertheless, I'm sure to bring him back for an annual Echo as I read many sudden heart attacked in teenage times when the kids grow up and I'm really worry especially now whenever Nathan played a bit too much or excited he will pant and his heart beat extremely fast.
He is just practically exhausted from all the poking :(

In any case now you have some ideas of what Kawasaki is all about, I urged that all parents to not take fever lightly. Also a big thank you to my family for being around me during the most difficult time. If you need support for Kawasaki, I have found and joined a really helpful group in Singapore. Do let me know if you need help or any question. Leave me a comment.
